Guinea pig babies are cute; pull up a baby picture on a pet website. A cavy female’s pregnancy usually lasts for 63 days. One sow usually gives birth to 2-4 babies. A delivery usually lasts for about 1/2 hour, with an average of 5 minutes between deliveries of each baby. The larger the litter the shorter the term of pregnancy is and vice versa. The young are born relatively mature: large, fully furred and with open eyes. They are even able to walk from the moment they were born. By two months of life, the young become sexually mature. It is recommended to ask the breeder a few questions about the pregnancy and how the babies have been reared, however, it is not recommended to breed these animals. These rodents are native to South America. They have compact bodies, large heads, short legs, and no tails. Nowadays they are widely spread as pets due to their docile temperament. These funny creatures are rather easy to care for. These mammals belong to the rodent family and have large incisor teeth that are continually growing necessitating gnawing to prevent the teeth from overgrowing. They are rodents that are more active at night. Guinea pig babies are cute; pull up a baby picture on a pet website.
