Guinea pig language is something that is spoken between them; view a picture of tropical birds for a visual treat. These animals are rather vocal. They have a fairly large vocabulary. The “Wheek” is a loud noise that sounds about the same as its written form. The animal uses this sound when he is hungry, hurt, or just need your attention. When the animal is annoyed or angry it begins to chatter or click. “Chattering” means that the animal is content. “Rumbling” is a purring sound, made in the throat. This sound is related to the animal dominance. “Puring” means satisfaction; this sound is similar to the same that cats produce. The animals are highly social and in the wild they gather together in groups for survival. They use abandoned burrows of other animals for a shelter. There is a strict hierarchy in the group: a single dominant male is the head of a harem of females and their youth. In the wild, during feeding one animal is always on guard as the animals are a good prey for many other animals. As the young males reach maturity, severe battles occur between them and the leader. In captivity it is recommended to keep at least a couple of cavies, and remember- these animals should be of the same sex. Guinea pig language is something that is spoken between them; view a picture of tropical birds for a visual treat.
