They are also called the Domestic Cavy and live to be 5 or 6 years on the average, yet there are exceptions to this. They are comical looking cavies with a longer fur that averages 2 inches in length. They have a broad head and a short face with a moustache around the nose and large bright eyes. The ears are petal shaped and droop and their bodies are relatively long. The coat colors can be tortoiseshell, roan and brindle. They have prominent whorls in the coat, referred to as rosettes.
