Feeding Guinea Pig

[an error occurred while processing this directive]

Feeding guinea pig requires a balanced diet, as with all animals; it's common in aviaries and breeders of these animals. The common health conditions found in the species include vitamin C deficiency, respiratory infections, abscess, skin mites, overgrowth of premolar teeth, cystitis and bladder stones. Proper diet is likely to prevent many health conditions by providing the pet with necessary nutrients. They should eat grass hay which provides them with plenty of roughage and fiber for their little organism. Hay also provides good grinding surfaces for the teeth. These animals should also have access to vegetables which are also important sources of vitamin C. Cavies should also have constant supply of fresh water every day. Feeding guinea pig requires a balanced diet, as with all animals; it's common in aviaries and breeders of these animals.

Feeding Guinea Pig

  -

aviaries, breeders

These rodents are mainly plant-eaters and in their natural habitat these animals eat a range of grasses, seeds, weeds, bugs, grubs and fruit. They are often mistaken as herbivores, but it is not exactly so. These animals are omnivores and do need protein in their diet to keep them healthy. Pay careful attention to choosing the diet for you pet, as this will influence the health of the animals greatly. It is recommended to supply your pet with food that contains fair amounts of calcium, phosphorous, magnesium and potassium and avoid feeding the pet table scrapes. Feeding guinea pig requires a balanced diet, as with all animals; it's common in aviaries and breeders of these animals.
