These animals are native to South America. They have compact bodies and no tails. Nowadays they are widely spread as pets due to their docile temperament. These funny creatures are rather easy to care for. They do not require large cages, complicated grooming and constant supervision. However, just like any other living being, cavies also have some health problems. Dental problems are usually noticed by the owner when the animal stops eating. Drooling is another serious sign of dental problems. Anyway, if you noticed any of these signs, you should immediately turn to a vet specialized on cavies. Guinea pig teeth can be sharp so be sure you don't get bit; get up-close pictures from a cavy breeder.
