A guinea pig rescue is a nice spot to take photos; a farm is another place to capture a lot of animals. In order to adopt a cavy, you will have to be able to provide the animal with an adequate housing. It is also necessary to give it a companion, because these animals are very sociable and get lonely on their own. They are very tender animals and youíll have to spend plenty of time with them every day; they need lots of love and cuddles. You will also have to clean out the cage 2-3 times a week, wash it with an approved disinfectant regularly, feed these animals a variety of fresh foods and change water daily. Cavies should also be groomed and bathed regularly. You will also have to provide your cavies with prompt medical care from a competent vet. The main aim of organizations where abandoned animals are kept is to provide their cavies with homes where they will be loved and given lots of attention. These animals communicate with both body language and sounds. If a young or adult animal squeals loudly, itís hungry or just needs human contact. Also a loud squeal may be a danger warning; thus squeaks, grunts, and coos are the sounds of contentment and pleasure. The angry chattering is the precursor to a fight or a bite. The low constant rumbling rattle is a sexual behavior. If an animal leaps straight up into the air, itís the sign of a healthy and happy animal. Rising up with legs stiffened or showing teeth means threatening. A guinea pig rescue is a nice spot to take photos; a farm is another place to capture a lot of animals.
