Peter Cottontail

A peter cottontail baby may be found on a farm. The eastern type is more abundant and is expanding its range, while the New England type’s range is diminishing. These animals breed from March through early fall and the females have a gestation period that lasts about 28 days. The nests are lined with fur and dry grass.
