Chinchilla history and origin are quite related; some farms specialize in their production; breeders may do the same.
Generally these creatures have been around for a long time. It is thought that they are direct descendants of the Pre Historic Megamys. The Megamys were larger than the present day rodents of this type and were found in the Permian deposits in Argentina.

Chinchilla History -

These animals received their name from the Spanish who named them after Chinca Indians. The Indians had used the fur of these rodents and introduced them to the Incas. If translate the name of these animals from Spanish, it will mean “Little Chincha”. Chinchilla history and origin are quite related; some farms specialize in their production; breeders may do the same.
