This rare breed originated in Southeastern England in the 1780s and was imported into the United States in 1803, but couldn’t compete with the larger breeds. Adults weigh from 70 to 150 lbs and stand from 18 to 24 inches tall. Many animal breeders place pictures or photo galleries of their animals on their websites.
